John's songs in four movies this year
« on: August 10, 2017, 09:07:08 AM »
Here's a good article describing an eclectic mix of movies which have featured John's songs this year.  These aren't movies I would be watching, but glad to see that people are thinking of and using his music in interesting ways that make people remember, "Oh yeah!, he was a great singer songwriter! Miss his music!"

Here's a link to a great article which discusses the movies John's music is featured in this year.  It also has quotes from Admin Amy from the Estate.

A worthwhile read:

It's just about time that John's music receives this recognition in movies. Great development!

Great article...♥

What’s most important, said Abrams, is that they remain in line with Denver’s ideals: He’s remembered as a philanthropist and humanitarian as much as he is a musician, and much of the content on his official web page is devoted to his messages of peace and compassion.

And that is a very good thing!

function as a musical shorthand, preaching empathy and working to provoke feelings of sentimentality in the audience. “Even if you don’t identify as a John Denver fan, likely you still know the words to a John Denver song,” said Abrams. “John had the power to reach millions of people with simple poetry about the most important things in their lives.”

Feeling of sentimentality and preaching empathy.....something this world needs so very much more of!
