Toots Thielemans
« on: September 10, 2017, 07:49:06 PM »
Toots Thielemans was a Belgian-American jazz musician. He was known for his harmonica playing, as well as his guitar, whistling skills, and composing. According to jazz historian Ted Gioia, his most important contribution was in "championing the humble harmonica", which Thielemans made into a "legitimate voice in jazz". He eventually became the "preeminent" jazz harmonica player.

Toots played on both "Aerie" and "Farewell Andromeda" albums.

Toots passed away last August of 2016.

I remember a post about how many songs that John had harmonica in.
It was more than I thought it would be.

The harmonica is an often overlooked instrument.
It can contribute a lot to a song.

I could not even say that I knew how many songs John has a harmonica on....I'm glad he had one of the best.

My Dad played harmonica my whole childhood....till he got false teeth! ;)
